BriClone (Hybridoma Cloning Medium)

BriClone(Hybridoma Cloning Medium)

Background
The use of feeder cells to support the outgrowth of hybridomas has many disadvantages. There may be problems of batch - to - batch variation in the quality of the feeder cells. In addition, feeder cells compete with freshly-fused hybridomas which results in the depletion of vital nutrients from the culture medium. The Archport hybridoma cloning medium, BriClone, has been specifically developed to overcome the common problems that occur with feeder cells.

Product Description
BriClone is a conditioned medium collected from a human cell line, supplied as a frozen medium (-20oC) in 100ml aliquots. BriClone is a cloning medium suitable for use in the post fusion stages of hybridoma production and for cloning hybridoma cells under conditions of limiting dilution. BriClone, when added to culture media, replaces the function of feeder cells.

Areas of Application
Briclone is added to Hybridoma culture media as a 5% v/v supplement. Its use completely replaces the tedious and time consuming task of preparing feeder cells in the post-fusion periods and during the routine cloning of hybridomas

Benefits
-Increased efficiency. BriClone is more efficient than feeder cells in cloning by limiting dilution methods
-Reduces risk of culture contamination
-Eliminates batch variation
-No depletion of nutrients by feeder cells
-No time consuming preparations
-BriClone is mycoplasma free

How to use Briclone
BriClone is supplied as a frozen (-20oC) solution. Before use, the medium is thawed to room temperature and is added to hybridoma culture media as a 5% v/v supplement. Its use completely replaces the need for any feeder cells in the post-fusion periods and during the routine cloning of hybridomas.
